Terms & Conditions of Entry

When you enter an APPA tournament, members are required to comply with the following:

 

PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT:

 

  • Behave in a sporting manner at all times to all players, officials and spectators.

  • Don’t make detrimental statements in respect of the performance of any match officials or referees.

  • Play by the rules at all times and ensure the game of pool is not brought into disrepute by your actions.

  • Do not engage in inappropriate and/or physical contact with players, or officials during the course of play.

  • Accept responsibility of all actions taken.

  • Adhere to the APPA Anti-Doping Policy (WADA)

  • Do not bet on the outcome or any other aspect of a match or competition.

  • Do not try and achieve a contrived outcome to a match or competition, or otherwise improperly influence the outcome or any aspect of a match or competition.

  • Abstain from the use of tobacco and the consumption of alcoholic beverages while in playing/representative uniform.

  • Adhere to the APPA Member Protection Policy including the racial and sexual vilification policy.

  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.

  • Respect the Referee’s decision, Do not use foul language, gestures, harass, sledge or threaten or intimidate a Referee or Match Official and do not show dissension, displeasure or disapproval towards a Referee or match officials decision in an abusive or unreasonable fashion.

  • Don’t do anything which adversely affects or reflects on or discredits the game of pool, APPA, a member, or any team, competition, tournament, sponsor, official supplier or licensee, including, but not limited to, any illegal act or act of dishonesty or fraud.

  • Refrain from using obscene, offensive or insulting language and or making obscene gestures which may insult other players, officials or spectators.

  • The Sports Director and/or APPA Competitions & Events staff are responsible for ensuring that this Code of Conduct is met at all times.

TOURNAMENT PROCEDURES - Player Requirements

 

  • Players Meeting - all players must attend before playing session starts

  • No Free Play - Before any group stage begins, each player is afforded 5 mins on the match table to warm up. Once the matches have started NO PRACTICE is permitted on MATCH tables. Once you progress to the knock-out stage of the event each player of a given match will be afforded 5 mins warm up.

  • Match procedure - all matches must be played in the order assigned and winner must return score sheets and balls to desk immediately after each match. Table Reservation Sign must be placed on table.

DRESS CODE:

 

  • Day 1. Qualifier Stage - Smart Casual. No offensive attire.

  • Day 2. Smart polo’s, dark trousers or dark jeans, and smart trainers / shoes;

  • If you have any queries with dress code do not hesitate to contact the Secretary (Fleur Williamson) or the Chairman (Stuart Rogers).
